If you think about it, from a young age we establish sleep patterns.When you are little you have specific nap times. As you get older you must go to bed at a certain time. Then as you get even older you must sleep so you can wake up and function best the next day.
Sleep amounts will vary dpending on age of course. When you're young you require more sleep but the average person should get about eight hours.
Getting adequate sleep is also essential to your body's health. The body does a certain amount of healing when its at rest and its especially vital for you immune system.
