I recently had a customer named Anne contact me about this exact topic. She has a bulging disc in her neck and needed a pillow. She was tossing and turning at night. Sleeping on her currrent pillow caused numbness in her arms and agonzing neck pain. Which pillow would i recommend for her? I asked Anne what her height and weight was? She stated she was 5'5 and 200 lbs. She was also mainly a side sleeper.
I would recommend the arc4life traction pillow for this customer. The traction v part of this pillow allows the neck to be gently stretched at night, allowing for less nerve pressure and therefore decreased pain and inflammation. The traction pillow medium standard size is fine for someone of her height and weight.
I also mentioned to her, that if she was in acute pain, then it may take a while for her to used to the arc4life traction pillow. It is not like your regular pillow that may be fluffy or flat depending on the pillow. Nope -this pillow has defenite contours in it that work with the natural curvature of your cervical spine. She may have to start by sleeping on the support side of the pillow. Also use the traction side of the pillow during the day therapeurically for 30-60 minutes laying on her back. Thiis gentle neck stretch can help to alleviate neck pain and numbness in the arms and hands.
