          We often tend to call those U-shaped pillows travel pillows. A regular night time pillow with a built in neck roll would be a "neck Pillow".

            A neck pillow can help relieve pain and improve neck posture That built-in neck roll supports your neck and maintains an adequate curvature.  They are often called support pillows, chiropractic pillows, orthopedic pillows.  They also help keep the spine in alignment when on your side. 

            A travel pillow is a U-shaped pillow that you can use for neck support when on a plane, traveling by plane, bus, or a car.  You may see these more and more because they are very helpful.

            So to make sure you don’t make a mistake when trying to find, order, or recommend one of these, you now will know what a neck pillow is versus a travel pillow.  It helps to have them both, also you may even want to get a smaller neck pillow to use wherever you are staying.
